DES MOINES, IOWA, US — John Schmahl has been named director of strategic partners at Landus Conduit, a wholly owned subsidiary of Landus launched last year to connect farmers, align agriculture and grain organizations with collaborators to streamline supply chain and access incremental value.

Schmahl most recently was US strategic channel lead at Farmers Edge since March 2022. Earlier, he was with Indigo in a variety of roles, including director and buyer manager, national account manager and Eastern sales director. He also has worked as a regional sales manager at WinField United, regional sales manager at The Andersons, Inc. and regional sales manager at Monsanto Co.

He received a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

“The addition of John makes a substantial difference to how we approach partnerships in areas where Landus doesn’t currently do business,” said Bruce Vernon, leader of Landus Conduit. “Having him on board builds our connections outside the Midwest region and beyond.”
