WINNIPEG, MANITOBA, CANADA — Janet Giesselman is set to take over as chair of the Ag Growth International Inc. board of directors following the company’s annual meeting in May. She will succeed Bill Lambert, who has been chair since 2006. Lambert intends to remain on the board to ensure “an orderly transition and continuity,” AGI said.
Giesselman has been a director of AGI since 2013 and currently chairs the Human Resources Committee. She also is a member of the Audit Committee and the Governance, Sustainability and Social Responsibility Committee.
Giesselman has more than 30 years of US and international agriculture, energy, and specialty chemicals industry experience, having led multiple global businesses. From 2001 to 2010, she held numerous senior leadership positions with the Dow Chemical Co. including as business vice president for Dow Latex, president and general manager for Dow Oil and Gas, and vice president of Dow AgroSciences. Before joining Dow, she held various business leadership positions with the Rohm and Haas Co.
She received a bachelor’s degree in biology at Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree in plant pathology at the University of Florida. She is also a director of McCain Foods Ltd., Twin Disc, Inc., and Corteva Inc. and previously was on the boards of GCP Applied Technologies, Inc. and Omnova Solutions Inc.
The planned transition at the chair position follows AGI’s appointment of Rohit Bhardwaj and Paul Householder to the board in November 2022. Householder was named president and chief executive officer of AGI in September 2022.
