ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA, US — The American Feed Industry Association’s (AFIA) program on biosecurity preparedness in the animal agriculture industry will feature foreign animal disease expert Cassandra Jones, PhD, presenting “Preparedness and Latest Response Plans from Federal/State Authorities.”
The program, “Biosecurity: Preparedness Must Be Perpetual,” will be 9:30 a.m. to noon, Jan. 25, at the 2023 International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) in Atlanta, Georgia, US.
Jones coordinates the animal science undergraduate teaching program at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, US. Jones’ research program focuses on understanding pathogen transmission through feed and ingredients.
Jones is a regular source to government and industry partners as they build science-based policy and implement best practices for producing animal feed and pet food that is nutritionally wholesome and safe.
The cost to register for the program is $65 before Jan. 6 and $85 afterward. Online registration is now open via the IPPE website.
