COVINGTON, LOUISIANA, US — CGB Enterprises, Inc. (CGB) has promoted Tom Malecha to senior vice president of CGB soybean processing and president of North Dakota Soybean Processors (NDSP), with the retirement of Steve O’Nan.
Malecha joined the CGB soybean processing team as vice president in April, bringing more than 35 years of experience. He will lead strategy and daily operations at the company’s Mount Vernon, Indiana, US, facility and will be instrumental in the continued development of NDSP’s business, the company said.
O’Nan started his career with CGB in 2013 as vice president and has spent his 40-plus-year career in the soybean processing industry. He will continue to serve the company as a board member for NDSP, a joint venture formed by CGB Enterprises, Inc. and Minnesota Soybean Processors, which will own and operate a processing facility near Casselton, North Dakota, US.
“If I have learned anything this last 43 years, it is the importance of the people around you,” O’Nan said. “I am blessed to have been around so many incredible people, and I can’t wait to see what you’re going to do with this great company as you go forward.”
Eric Slater, president and chief executive officer of CGB Enterprises, added, “Steve has been an incredible asset to our organization, and the scope and impact of his work are tremendous. He is a terrific colleague, a respected mentor, and a friend to so many. We wish him the absolute best in his well-deserved retirement.
"I also want to congratulate Tom Malecha on his appointment as senior vice president of CGB soybean processing and president of NDSP. Tom possesses an abundance of expertise and knowledge, and we are proud to have him on the team and look forward to his continued leadership within CGB.”
