BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA — Cargill was Argentina’s top grain exporter in 2021, declaring 15.1 million tonnes of grains, pulses, flours and vegetable oils, amounting to 12.9% of the South American nation’s total.
Based on data from sworn export declarations (DJVE) published external sales commitments in Argentina for grains and byproducts (wheat, corn, soybeans, barley, sorghum, sunflower, rice, peanuts, among grains, plus flours and vegetable oils and some pulses) were 117 million tonnes. This was almost double 2020’s 60 million tonnes, but below the record 133.1 million tonnes reached in 2019, the Rosario Stock Exchange reported.
Cargill was followed in the top 10 by COFCO (14.4 million tonnes), Viterra (14.35 million), Bunge (12.7 million), ADM (11.6 million), Louis-Dreyfus (10.3 million) ACA (10.1 million), AGD (9.6 million), Molinos Agro (7.2 million), and Amaggi (1.9 million).
