KERALA, INDIA — Diamond Roller Flour Mills (DRFM), a leading south Indian flour miller, plans to build a manufacturing unit in the United Arab Emirates in the near future, the Khaleej Times newspaper reported.
DRFM officials made the announcement after receiving the European Society for Quality Research award at a ceremony in Dubai.
DRFM exports about 10 containers of product per week to the UAE and about five containers are exported to Qatar every week, said TK Ameer Aly, managing director.
“Being in the food processing industry, we have been relentless in our pursuit of quality and safety,” Aly said. “The ESQR award is a recognition and a testimony to our commitment in this regard.”
DRFM uses grains from Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat blended with wheat imported from Australia to produce premium grade flours. It has 20,000 tonnes of storage capacity to ensure hygiene in handling and processing.
