COLUMBUS, NEBRASKA, US — Philip M. Raimondo, chief executive officer of Behlen Manufacturing Co., died Oct. 3. He was 59 years old.
Shortly after graduating from Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering Raimondo joined Control Data Corp. as a test engineer, a position he held for six years. He later moved on to HMT Technology, where he was a test/maintenance engineering manager for a little less than a year.
In 1990, he began what would become a 31-year career with Behlen Mfg. Co. Raimondo began his career at Behlen as quality manager, moving on to regional plant manager in Goshen, Indiana, US, in 1993. In 1995, he was named manufacturing manager, and in 1998 took over as director of quality and human resources. He was promoted to president of international and diversified products in 1999 and chief operating officer in 2001. He was named president and CEO in 2006, and in 2019 was named chairman and CEO.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; three sons, Matthew (Kayla) Raimondo, Nicholas (Katy Dyas) Raimondo, and Patrick (Kayla) Raimondo; two daughters, Rachel (Brandon) Hays and Natalie Raimondo; and three grandchildren. He also is survived by his father, T.R. Raimondo of Columbus; a brother, Tony (Sharon) Raimondo Jr.; two sisters, Linda (Tom) Bock and Diana Raimondo; and 13 nieces and nephews.
