MUSCATINE, IOWA, US — Kent Corp., a family-owned business with operating subsidiaries involved in corn wet milling, animal feed production, and the manufacture of food, beverage, personal care and pet products, recently was recognized as a 2021 Top Iowa Workplace.
Selections were awarded based on employee feedback gathered through a third-party anonymous survey administered by Energage LLC, an employee engagement technology partner that measures unique cultural drivers within an organization’s management structure.
With more than 2,000 employees around the world, Kent said it celebrated this recognition and others as a reflection of its dedication to long-term value and the fundamental principles on which Kent was founded nearly a century ago.
“We are particularly proud to hold this honor as it is solely based on employee feedback,” said Carol Reynolds, corporate spokesperson and vice president of human resources and communications for Kent. “Our employees are the driving force of our continued ability to deliver top-quality products for our customers, as well as our overall success as a company. Our greatest asset is people. The lifeblood of any business is its employees who live and work in communities across Iowa and the United States.”
Specific feedback from employees noted Kent’s focus on health and safety, competitive benefits, and career development and advancement.
The state-wide recognition comes after Kent was named a “US Best Managed Company,” a program sponsored by Deloitte Private and The Wall Street Journal, for the second consecutive year.
Kent is led by third generation family member Gage A. Kent. The Kent family of companies includes 40 locations across 20 states and seven countries.
