KIEV, UKRAINE — Ukraine’s wheat flour exports declined to a near 10-year low in March 2021, Reuters reported, citing a local millers’ union.
Last month, a total of 4,016 tonnes of wheat flour was exported from Ukraine compared to the previous low of 3,445 tonnes in January 2011.
The local millers’ union attributed the export decrease to high wheat prices.
According to the APK-Inform agriculture consultancy, the country’s wheat flour exports decreased 60% in the first seven months of the 2020-21 season, July-June, to 86,300 tonnes.
Ukraine’s wheat exports prices also have declined due to weakened demand and a forecasted strong 2021 wheat harvest.
