MOSCOW, RUSSIA — The Crimean peninsula’s grain exports fell to 200,000 tonnes in 2020 from 400,000 tonnes the previous year due to a smaller crop, regional agriculture minister Andrey Ryumshin was quoted as saying by the Interfax news agency on Dec. 23.
Crimea's 2020 grain crop fell by 41% to 1 million tonnes.
Russia, one of the world’s largest wheat exporters, annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014.
Crimean supplies grain mainly to Syria and Libya, Ryumshin told Interfax.
