PARIS, FRANCE — The European Union (EU) and United Kingdom’s (UK) soft wheat exports totaled 7.84 million tonnes in the 2020/21 season that began July 1, Reuters reported.
The European Commission noted ongoing technical issues, meaning the data only covers the period up to Nov. 6.
Soft wheat exports were 24% below volumes shipped by Nov. 10 of last year, Reuters said, citing European Commission data.
EU and UK barley exports were also down 7%, reaching 2.9 million tonnes for the 2020-21 season. Maize imports for the EU and UK slipped 19% to 5.86 million tonnes, Reuters reported.
