SURRY HILLS, AUSTRALIA – Organizers of the annual Poultry Information Exchange and Australasian Milling Conference announced on March 17 that the event has been postponed due to the global coronavirus pandemic.
It had been scheduled for May 17-19 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (GCCEC) on the Gold Coast, Queensland but will now take place at a date yet to be determined.
“Over the past few weeks, the PIX/AMC Organizing Committee has been closely monitoring the guidance from domestic (state and federal health authorities) and international (World Health Organization) bodies regarding COVID-19,” organizers said. “Please know that we did not make this decision lightly. After close monitoring of the situation, in combination with the decisions made by the Australian Government with limiting non-essential gatherings and the tightening of international travel restrictions, we felt it was the right thing to do to protect the health and safety of our attendees and staff. We are working with the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre to reschedule the event. We will update everyone once we work through the rescheduling details with the GCCEC.”
The conference includes educational sessions for the poultry and milling industries as well as a trade show featuring more than 250 exhibitors who will demonstrate their latest products and equipment.
