EDE, THE NETHERLANDS — Royal De Heus has announced plans to acquire a Spanish compound feed plant, Evialis Galicia, from Archer Daniels Midland Co. (ADM).
Evialis Galicia, located in Sada northern Spain, was founded in 1974 by a collaboration of pig farmers to produce feed for their own sows. The facility produces 50,000 tonnes of compound feed annually. Currently, the company offers a complete assortment of compound feeds for multiple animal categories, with a focus on feed for dairy cattle and rabbits.
“We are pleased with this acquisition,” said Jean François Honoré, general manager of De Heus Iberia. “The take-over underlines our ambition to further reinforce our market position in Spain. This new plan enables us to improve our logistic service for customers in this region.”
Royal De Heus is active in more than 70 countries through the export of concentrates and premixes, the main ones being in Eastern Europe, Africa, the Middle East and South America. Globally, the company has more than 6,000 employees.
