MANHATTAN, KANSAS, U.S. — AIB International plans to debut VirtualInspector at the International Bakery Industry Exposition (IBIE) set for Sept. 7-11 in Las Vegas. AIB said the immersive training simulation “prepares users to look for food safety issues throughout a plant setting and document their findings with corrective actions that provide resolution.”
Training associated with VirtualInspector is designed to create a well-trained self-inspection team that is empowered to take ownership of food safety programs, AIB said.
AIB said VirtualInspector presents several scenarios to users, starting with a guide to the process and gradually introducing more scenarios that test user knowledge and skills. Each interactive session includes built-in instruction, videos and quizzes, AIB said.
“Thousands of products are recalled each year due to undetected food safety issues,” said Katie Mayes, vice-president of marketing and product development at AIB. “Facilities need a well-trained self-inspection team that can identify and resolve food safety issues. We invite IBIE attendees to drop by our booth and demo VirtualInspector. Companies looking to optimize eLearning with an engaging and measurable training platform will find that VirtualInspector provides convenience, calibration and efficiency for employers and participants.”
AIB said VirtualInspector effectively bridges the gap between theory and practice. Self-inspection teams are able to use the simulator to practice identifying GMP violations that otherwise would be difficult to replicate. The simulator allows users to assess audio and visual cues that draw attention to important hotspots.
The VirtualInspector may be accessed through AIB International’s Learning Management System and can be experienced via laptop, mobile device or VR headset. It is compatible with all major desktop browsers and apps.
