BAKU, AZERBAIJAN — Grain producers and processors in Azerbaijan, with the support of the Ministries of Economy, Agriculture and the National Confederation of Entreprenuers’ Organizations, have established an Association of Grain Producers and Processors, according to AzerNews.
The new association is expected to ensure closer cooperation between government agencies and the nation’s grain growers.
According to AzerNews, the board will include nine individuals from Azersun, Gilan Holding, Karat Holding, Neon, Agro Dairy, Baku Grain Terminal, Yalama Agropark, Karabakh Taxil and Modern Group. Taleh Gasimov, head of Karat Holding, has been elected chairman of the new association.
AzerNews noted that grain production in Azerbaigan exceeded 3 million tonnes in 2018. The country imported more than 1 million tonnes of wheat.
