WASHINGTON, D.C., U.S. — The U.S. Department of Agriculture, in its Feb. 8 World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates report, forecast the carryover of U.S. wheat on June 1, 2019, at 1.010 billion bus, up 3.7% from 974 million bus as the December forecast but down 8% from 1.099 billion bus in 2018. Corn carryover on Sept. 1, 2019, was forecast at 1.735 billion bus, down 2.6% from 1.781 billion bus in December and down 19% from 2.140 billion bus in 2018. Soybean carryover on Sept. 1, 2019, was forecast at 910 million bus, down 4.7% from December but up 108% from 438 million bus in 2018. The 2019 USDA carryover forecasts for wheat and corn were above the average of trade expectations but the soybean forecast was slightly below the trade average.
