KIEV, UKRAINE — Ukraine, as of Jan. 16, has exported 25.7 million tonnes of grain in the 2018-19 season, up from 22.1 million tonnes at the same point in the previous season, according to Reuters.
Ukraine harvested a record 70.1 million tonnes of grain in 2018, up from 61.3 million in 2017. The Ukraine Agricultural Ministry told Reuters exports could rise to 47.2 million tonnes in the July 2018 to June 2019 season from 39.4 million the season before.
The ministry said Ukraine already had exported almost 10.8 million tonnes of corn compared with 6.6 million tonnes in the same period last season, while wheat shipments fell to 11.1 million tonnes from around 11.6 million.
