PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC — The Czech Republic’s 2018 grain harvest was recently revised higher but is still slightly lower than last year’s total, according to the Czech Statistics Bureau (CSU).

The CSU’s August estimate was 6.62 million tonnes, slightly higher than the July estimate but down from last year’s total of 6.86 million tonnes.

CSU forecast 2018 wheat production at 4.5 million tonnes, down from 4.7 million in 2017.

Barley output for this year is forecast at 1.6 million tonnes, down from 1.7 million tonnes a year ago.
