MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA, U.S. — Registration is open until Sept. 5 for the Grain Elevator and Processing Society’s (GEAPS) online course focused on expanding or building a new grain facility.
GEAPS 510: Grain Facilities Planning and Design I will run from Sept. 11 to Oct. 13. Attendees will learn how to evaluate a number of potential factors to make the best decisions for their facilities.
The online course from the GEAPS/Kansas State University Distance Education Program identifies types of grain facilities and their purposes, storage structure types and options, how to determine the storage and handling capacities, and how to select a suitable construction site. At the end of the course, participants will be asked to lay out a simple facility.
The course can also apply toward an industry credential. GEAPS 510 is one of six courses required for the Credential in Grain Operations Management (CGOM). For more information on the Distance Education Program, the Credential Program or other courses, visit the program website.
