KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI, U.S. – The International Association of Operative Millers will be offering its Milling Maintenance I Course Oct. 1-3 in Kansas City, Missouri, U.S.

The course will cover multiple maintenance topics including bearings, gates and valves, belts, chains and power transmissions, electric motors, sifters, process auditing and automation.

IAOM brings in experts from the industry's equipment manufacturers and suppliers to teach various parts of the course.

In past years, those have included Pepper Maintenance, Independent Electric, Martin Sprocket & Gear, AIB and Vortex Valves. During a tour of Great Western Mfg., Co., participants will have the opportunity to learn more about sieve and sifter maintenance. A tour of the Martin Sprocket and Gear facilities will include studies in power transmission and bushing and coupling installation. Jeff Gwirtz, JAG Services, will facilitate the course.

Cost is $900 for IAOM members and $975 for non-members. It includes tuition, materials and lunches.
