SALALAH, OMAN — Salalah Mills Co. sustained damage caused by rain and winds in connection with Cyclone Mekunu that struck Oman on May 26, according to a report from Reuters.
The company said it is evaluating the damage and has started repairs, with plans to restart some production lines by May 30.
Salalah Mills was formed in 1995 as a joint stock company with the purpose of milling and distributing wheat products to the growing Oman market and for export to neighboring countries. The mill has 1,500 tonnes of daily milling wheat capacity and storage capacity of 180,000 tonnes.
The company’s products include all-purpose flour, white flour, premium baker’s flour, premium Arabic bread flour, atta, premium atta, chakki atta, brown bread flour, semolina, harees and jareesh.
